Dealing with a lost pet can be very difficult! The City of Windcrest is here to help! If you have a lost pet, you can bring a picture, description and other pertinent information to the City of Windcrest Administration Offices between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To expedite the process, you can contact the Windcrest Police Department at 210-655-2666 to report your lost pet. An Animal Control Officer will be dispatched to take the report. We will then place the photograph and information on the City's website under Animal Control.
In addition to making notification to the City of Windcrest Animal Control Unit, you may also try contacting all local shelters and veterinarian hospitals/clinics in the area. It is highly recommended that you microchip your pet, this could also aid in recovery. The City of Windcrest allows you to provide a photo of your pet at the time of registration with the city.
The database of photos and pet registration tags provided by the city have aided the Animal Control Officer in being able to successfully return several pets to their rightful owners.
