Originally from Pittsburgh, Pa, Lt. Williams joined the Air Force in 1980, retiring in 1992 after Desert Storm. He soon came to work for the Windcrest Police Department as a Dispatcher while going to the San Antonio College Law Enforcement Academy. He became an officer and eventually worked his way up to Detective Sergeant. Lt. Williams then left the Department for an Investigators job with the State Police. Retiring from police work in 2006, he followed another dream, driving big trucks all over the country. He returned to Windcrest Police Department in August 2009 and has risen through the ranks again, first as a patrol supervisor and then to Operations Sergeant. He is currently assigned to the Special Operations Division as the Commander which manages Investigations, Internal Affairs, Warrant Section, Animal Control, and Code Compliance. He also oversees weapons training, C.O.R. Unit, asset seizure, sex offender registration, police officer recruiting and academy liaison. Lt. Williams is also a negotiator on the Metro Area SWAT Team. His hobbies are Motorcycles, Barbequing, and Camping. Lt. Williams is also pursuing a private pilot’s license.
